Motorola phones have a loyal audience in Pakistan Mobile Market and Moto Phones offers great features. However, Motorola Phones are not exempted from PTA Tax. Moto Phones must be PTA registered to use cellular SIM on your Moto Phones. Our PTA tax check and PTA tax calculator simplify the process. In this blog, you will find the Best budget Moto Phone under 12K PTA Tax.
Motorola E-Series: The Ultra-Budget Entry
E Series variants are Budget phones for price cautious users. However, the Moto E4 and C Plus as some of the most affordable smartphones to register in Pakistan, with taxes staying well below 10,000 PKR. The E4 Plus (CIF $52) and E5 Plus (CIF $75) offer a great balance. In Motorola E Series, you can get the “Plus” battery life and screen size while keeping the tax between 11k and 13k PKR, which is significantly lower than newer mid-range device. Models like the E5 and XT2025-2 shows that Motorola’s entry-level pricing is very stable, making them the perfect “secondary” or “work” phones for PTA approval.
| MOTOROLA Model | FBR CIF Value (USD) | PTA Tax Passport | PTA Tax CNIC |

| MOTOROLA E6 (S) | $ 42 | 8,960 | 10,285 |
Motorola G-Series: The “Tax Trap” Alert
Moto G Series is little bit costly as compared to E Series. You should pay close attention to the jump between the Moto G5S Plus (CIF $68) and the Moto G6 (CIF $107). Even though they are successive generations, the tax more than doubles from ~12.8k to over 30k PKR.
If you are going to register G6 Plus that carries a tax of nearly 32k PKR. It’s worth noting that this tax is nearly 40% of the original value, making it essential to use a Passport for registration to save at least 2,300 PKR. However, G8 Power Lite is a “hidden gem” in the Motorola G Series with a CIF value around $58, it offers much newer hardware than the G6 but at half the tax cost (~11.8k vs 30k). This is my top recommendation for you if you going to consider Motorola G Series.

| MOTOROLA G8 POWER LITE | $ 58 | 10,549 | 11,875 |
Moto Z-Series: Premium Tech, Premium Duties
Moto Z-Series is a flagship addition in list. You can clearly see, the Moto Z (XT1650) carries the highest tax on this list at over 40k PKR (CNIC). Since the Z-series uses unique “Moto Mods,” you should factor in that the registration cost might be higher than the current used-market price of the phone itself. Moreover, The Z Play is slightly more tax-friendly than the standard Z, but it still sits in the 32k PKR bracket.
| MOTOROLA Model | FBR CIF Value (USD) | PTA Tax Passport | PTA Tax CNIC |

Comparison: Passport vs. CNIC Savings
In this blog we go through detailed breakdown of PTA Tax on Moto E, G and Z Series. We noted that, any Motorola model with a CIF value over $100 (like the Moto Z or G6 Plus), the Passport registration is almost mandatory and you can save consistently between 2,300 and 2,400 PKR. On the other side, Moto E4 or C Plus, the difference is only about 1,300 PKR. For these cheaper models, registering via CNIC is often more convenient for you since the savings on a Passport are minimal.
After all, i advise you to look for the Motorola G8 Power Lite. It is the most modern phone on this list with the most efficient tax-to-performance ratio, staying comfortably in the low-tax $50-$60 bracket.
